Confusion Project is a jazz trio established in 2013 in Gdańsk, Poland and since then has gained a wide recognition in Poland as well as abroad. According to critics, Confusion Project's music is considered to be emotional, communicative and neo-romantic. The band's ambition is to play jazz-fusion music in a fresh, delicate style and to strike a balance between humor and lyricism.

Since forming Confusion Project has played over 100 concerts in Poland, Italy, Holland, Russia and Kazachstan performing in clubs, philharmonies, radio stations, television shows and festivals. The group was innited to  performe at several jazz festivals, such as:

Confusion Project has gained awards at several jazz competitions in Poland and also became one of the four finalists of the prestigious European Jazz Contest in 2014. In 2016 the trio performed at international jazz competition “Big Sky” in Moscow – Michał Ciesielski earned 2nd prize in “the best instrumentalist” category.

After being awarded an artistic scholarship by the city of Gdańsk in 2014 Confusion Project released its debut album consisting mostly of its original compositions. The album, named „How to Steal a Piano?” In 2015 Confusion Project was also awarded an artisitc scholarship by the Pomorskie voivodeship and released it’s second album “The Future Starts Now” in October 2015. Both CD’s were enthusiastically received by the critics.



Composer, arranger and jazz pianist. He completed his studies in the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he received his master’s degree as a jazz composer and jazz pianist. He also studied for a year in the Institut of Jazz in Katowice.

He has composed almost one hundred compositions (contemporary music, film and theatre music, chamber and symphonic music as well as pop songs and many more).  He was awarded in several international and national music competitions such as: the International Krzysztof Komeda Composition Competition, Big Sky Jazz Festival, RCK Pro Jazz Festival, School & Jazz Festival and more.

Apart from being the leader in Confusion Project, Michał performs in many other bands, such as: Ad Shave, Alicja Serowik Quartet, Visegrad Quintet, Tribute To Turnau, Gaba Janusz Quintet. He also performs with his solo project “Between Black & White”

He collaborated with many musicians, such as: Maciej Sikała, Piotr Lemańczyk, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Krystyna Prońko, Maciej Grzywacz, Marcin Gawdzis, Grzegorz Nagórski, Cezary Paciorek, Marcin Jahr czy Brian Fentress.

As a pianist Michał toured all around Poland as well as Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Nederlands, Russia and Kazakhstan.



He completed his studies in the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he received his master’s degree as a jazz bass guitarist. 

Awarded in several music competitions such as: School & Jazz Festival, Pif Paf Music Festival, The Sung Poetry Tournament.

He collaborated with many musicians, such as: Maciej Sikała, Maciej Grzywacz, Cezary Paciorek, Grzegorz Nagórski Marcin Gawdzis, Darek Herbasz or the Leszek Możdżer & Leszek Kułakowski Big Band 2010.

Apart from playing with Confusion Project Piotr is cooperating with The Musical Theatre in Gdynia, where you can hear him in such shows as: Greece, Shrek, AvenueQ, Gentleman’s Club, Ghost, Peter Pan, Musicalomania.

He recorded several music albums in different musical genres (pop, funk, hip-hop, rock, jazz fusion)

As a bass player Piotr toured all around Poland as well as Germany, Sweden, Italy, Nederlands and Russia.



He completed his bachelor studies in the University in Zielona Gora, and his masters stuidies in the Music Academy in Wroclaw where he got his masters degree as a jazz drummer.

Winner of the Polish Percussion Competiition (2003) and the winner of Jazz & Blues Bands Festival in Gdynia (2005), awarded in School & Jazz Festival (2012).

He collaborates with many musicians such as: Maciej Sikała, Cezary Paciorek, Maciej Grzywacz, Piotr Lemańczyk, Przemek Dyakowski, Dominik Bukowski, Kuba Stankiewicz, Inga Lewandowska, Grzegorz Nagórski, Zdzisław Babiarski, Big Band of the Zielona Góra University, Visegrad Quintet,  since 2015 he  collaborates with an Indonesian pianist – Dwiki Dharmawan, with whom he performed at the prestigious Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta.

In 2015 Adam recorded his first solo album “Ad Shave”, which was enthusiastically received by critics and listeners.
