About the album

PRIMAL is a story of a man, who finds courage to pursue his dreams and instincts and to start a lonesome journey. Traveling away from civilization, struggling with difficulties of his roam he experiences a great adventure, that helps him find his true nature and primordiality, which he forgot a long time ago. PRIMAL is a single composition divided into chapters.

Each time one listens to the whole album, or a single track their imagination allows to experience primordiality in a different way.

PRIMAL is a monologue of the lonely wanderer described in music. PRIMAL is about lively forests, humming rivers, fresh mountain wind and an exhausting climb to experience a breathtaking view. We encourage every listener to become the main character of the PRIMAL suite for a while and experience this musical journey in his own way.

This CD album has been recorded by Ignacy Gruszecki in the outstanding Monochrom studio. To keep the naturalness of the music and the story the band has recorded the whole composition in one take. After that they started to work on the details.

While working on the PRIMAL material we wanted the best possible sound quality. The acoustics of Monochrom studio where supervised by the legendary Masami Sam Toyoshima – a man responsible for the sound of such studios as: Abbey Road, Metropolis, Olympic, EMI (Germany), Warner Music (Japan) as well as many private studios of such musicians as: Sting, Phil Collins, George Michael and Ringo Starr. Toyoshima has developed a unique project implementing the studio owner’s vision on top worldclass level. He supervised building of the studio himself.

REVIEWS

WHAT OTHERS
HAVE TO SAY

Wojciech Sobczak-Wojeński, JazzPress -
This music fits in with the general tendencies to create arranged, rhythmically complicated mini-suites, requiring great precision and synchronization of all musicians. The trio from Tricity managed to achieve it, still maintaining it’s light, effortless, and melodically attractive manner of playing
Marta Jundziłł, Jazzarium -
They are aware of all the nuances they play in their exceptionally sensitive music. They don’t create  plain jazz anymore, this time instead of focusing on some characteristic motives, they focus on emotions and histories, that they intelligently pass to the listiner.
Mind you this album is way better that most other contemporary Fusion albums.
Aga Zaryan -
On this CD album you can find original improvised music, performed with enthusiasm and energy by the young generation of jazz musicians searching for their musical language and devoted to their craft. It’s worth lending an ear, because you can hear they are playing from their hearts and what is more, they created this CD towards an exceptionally noble cause
